Eating For The Greater Good
Don’t forget to eat your fruits and veggies.
During the Holiday Season many of us tend to eat more.
However, we seem to forget the nutritious foods or eat very
little of them. Some fruits, veggies, and herbs you can add to
your Holiday meals are :
cranberries, pomegranates, tomatoes, yams, thyme, and
peppermint.
CRANBERRIES are high in vitamin C and phytonutrient
rich. It is considered a powerhouse fruit.
POMEGRANATES polyphenol rich with high levels of
antioxidants. Even higher than green tea (perfect for flu
season)
TOMATO antioxidant, rejuvenator. Provides lycopene,
beta-hydroxy acids, combats skin aging.
YAMS antioxidant, age defying. Infuses the skin with
Beta Carotene, antioxidants, and vitamin B6.
THYME antioxidant, rejuvenator. Retards the effects of
free radicals, assists in cellular renewal. Calms irritated
epidermis (top layer of skin).
PEPPERMINT antioxidant, anti bacterial. Soothes and
heals skin, lifts moods, combats free radicals, and supplies
vitamins A and C.
Some tips for adding these ingredients to your daily regime
are:
Pomegranates
can be added to salads, ice cream, yogurt, rice or chicken. Or
simply enjoy them as a snack to boost vitamin C levels.
Love the smell of peppermint? Adding peppermint essential oil
(1-2 drops) to your bottled water can be refreshing as well as
lifting your mood and adding much needed vitamin A and C. Also
try peppermint tea in the morning instead of coffee.
You will be amazed at how good you feel.
Hope to see you soon,
