Tip Of
The Month
Summer Fun...and
the living is easy
Going on a vacation? Staying home? You can have lots of fun in
the sun if you’re properly prepared.
The first thing you must do is stay hydrated. Yes, you are
having lots of fun but nothing dulls the day faster than being
dehydrated. Because of the heat and your physical activity you
are likely to sweat more so you actually need more water to
stay hydrated. This doesn’t mean more soda or iced tea which
can make you more dehydrated. You should make sure to drink
eight glasses of water a day.
The next thing you should do is use your sun block. It is so
important. With so many more outdoor activities it’s easy to
forget to protect your skin. You should apply face and body
sun block to shield your skin. You will still get color and
stay healthier. At the Journey Spa & Wellness Center
we’ve totally got you covered. We have body block that is
waterproof and full spectrum blocks for your face. Untinted
and tinted to give you that sunkissed look.
Next you should get into the habit of taking your vitamins.
You are more active now and you need more support. So make
sure that you keep taking your vitamins to maintain that
healthy glow inside and out. By the way, you should make sure
you are taking enough vitamin D. With the strong sun blocks we
all use today vitamin D is now more important than ever to
help support your immune system.
And now the really fun part. Eat lots of summer colors. Enjoy
the abundance of fresh fruits and veggies available
everywhere. Many of you are starting your own gardens. But if
you don’t have a green thumb, like me, there are plenty of
farmers markets to satisfy any backyard chef. Bell peppers are
wonderful in salads and add lots of vitamins and nutrients.
The healthier your diet is, the healthier your body is.
Challenge yourself to add more fruits and vegetables to the
table this year. The healing power of natural foods are
literally at our fingertips.

food”
