Tip Of
The Month
Inspiration
It’s time for the kids to be excited about their new school
clothes for the upcoming school year. At least they should be
excited. We have so much to be grateful for yet it seems as
though the new generations take so much for granted. The new
mantra seems to be instant gratification. The “I want it now”
syndrome.
Many people forget that there are others that are not so
lucky. Rarely do they get anything new at all. So how about
inspiring yourself and your kids to do something about that.
Maybe you could convince your kids to clean out their closets
and rooms and donate those things they hardly ever use to
someone who could really use and appreciate them. Shoes,
books, clothing, CD’s, or anything that once had value to your
kids can now brighten someone else’s day. If you can teach
your kids to be charitable and share things they hardly use
anymore with those less fortunate their closets will more
organized, their rooms cleaner and they will feel much better
about themselves for helping someone less fortunate.
There are other ways to be inspirational too. You and the kids
could bake some cookies or make some meals and take them to a
senior center or to a children's home. Just another life
lesson that is fun and inspiring.
Another thing can be as simple as reading to younger kids at
school or taking time out of their day to help someone who may
not get a lot of companionship.
My nephew is a fireman/paramedic and still finds time to be a
Big Brother to a young boy who doesn't have a good male figure
in his life. He takes his little brother to ballgames,
bowling, or by just having an older wiser guy to talk to is so
helpful. My nephew also does Meals on Wheels. To me he is an
inspiration.
Another idea is to have a Pen Pal. Maybe a soldier or long
term patient at a hospital.
In this incredible day and age of computers which helps us to
reach out and acquire so much knowledge and information it’s
nice to know there are those who reach within ourselves to
help someone else who just need to know they matter.
Everyday is a great day to show an attitude of gratitude.
Try it...You’ll feel better!
Take care and be well,
