Tip Of
The Month
Why drinking more
water is beneficial...
We always hear about how much water we should drink.
Sixty four ounces a day or half your body weight in ounces.
For example, a one hundred and twenty pound person equals
sixty ounces of water consumed daily to help keep the body
hydrated.
But why should we be concerned about being hydrated? Because
when the body is dehydrated your system as a whole becomes
more sluggish. Drinking water, not coffee, tea, or energy
drinks, helps to flush out waste accumulated by the body. Your
skin is your largest eliminatory organ. For example, not
drinking enough water will show up on the skin in the form of
acne, wrinkles, or dry flakey skin. Therefore drinking water
helps to balance your internal eco-system by keeping the body
cleaner within.
 |
It also helps to
keep organs hydrated and healthy |
 |
It helps cool the
body temperature on hot days as we lose more moisture through
perspiration. |
 |
When drinking large
amounts of water it is best to focus on drinking distilled
water so you are not taking in an over abundance of minerals. |
Forget about the
excuse I can’t drink enough water because the bathroom is too
far away. Slowly increasing your body’s water intake by one to
two glasses weekly will help your bladder hold more and last
longer between restroom breaks. Your body’s natural thirst is
stimulated and your body will want more water.
And remember... What is the difference between a raisin and a
grape? HYDRATION !!! Which would you rather be?
